• Every Restaurant in the world should be banned from throwing away or destroying Unsold Food.
Instead they should be forced to donate it to the
Charities, food banks, or homeless.

    • That would be great except we all know that if someone got sick or died from that leftover restaurant food the first thing some shyster lawyer would do was encourage them to sue the restaurant, the owner and anyone else they could throw in the mix! That is why they do not donate food!

    • As someone who has managed several restaurants, I will say that the reason most food is thrown out is because it is past its life span. Either by local or state guidelines. Although, I have worked for one restaurant that has done this, it was a great way to give back

    • Restaurants and stores used to do this. And then the people who received the food started suing them. If they got sick, they would sue them. Eventually the liability was just too much and it became easier to throw it than to give it.

    • Im a cook at dennys..... That is not something we can do. If something goes bad or past date we have to chuck it but that food would never be something youd want to eat. Also after a certain amount of time off the grill that meal would also be sickening. Most food thrown out is half eaten.....

    • Food service for the most part do not do this for liability purposes. Even if we hold the product at proper temp abd date guidlines once it is out of our controle we as the originator of saud product are still held accountable unless the orginasation recieving the food signs contracts of liability.

    • I wouldn't say they should be forced but should be allowed. Regulations will not allow it so the same people you are saying should force it won't allow it. Most companies would love that ootion

    • There are health laws in place that require old or uneaten food to be thrown away so nobody gets sick from it. You would have to change them first, if you want to.

    • As evidenced by the recent ban on being able to sue pharmaceutical companies if the COVID19 vac kills or maims you, they should equally ban such frivolous lawsuits against restaurants and/or grocery stores that did donate their food.

    • Restaurants should be encouraged to donate unused food through tax breaks or deregulation, not FORCED. Force is what fascists use to change behavior. Force only works until the sheep rebel and remove their fascist masters.
